delayed postings--sorry :(

I wanted to apologize for not posting in a spell. It has been some crazy days. My three teenage boys have kept me hoppin. Mathew, my senior shows our dogs through 4-H and our local county fair was this past week. So, we spent the entire week at the local fairgrounds with our show dogs. I had anticipated doing a lot of reading during the fair--normally, there's a lot of downtime between shows. But not this year! This year, I barely had the chance to sit in my lawn chair. I'm not going to complain. My son had a decent showing along with the other kids in our 4-H club. I am very proud of all of them for the hard work each kid put into their projects and animals.

That being said, I am going full force with my reading lists. I have been doing a lot of thinking about how I want this blog and what I want to accomplish. I have been receiving a lot of ARCs directly from authors which I am finishing up. I will have those reviews posted soon. It is nice to hear from authors about their novels. But I feel like I should be doing more. But what?
I am trying to make sure that I post here, in Goodreads, and Amazon (when applicable). I also have accounts in Kobo too. I'm not as well versed in the latter.

Going Up Tawna Fenske

This is a kindle motion novella. I didn't realize that my kindle doesn't have those features--I was completely bummed out about that. But the novella itself is a sweet romance.

Lexi Allison is used to warding off unwanted advances from men--she is a mixologist at a premier bar that she owns. She doesn't wear a fake wedding ring for nothing. Getting stuck in an elevator with an intimidating Noah Donovan was not part of her plans. Lexi hates confined spaces. But being with Noah wasn't so bad--two truths and a lie helped relax Lexi a bit. Learning details about Noah and the softer side of the large tattooed construction worker--mason.
Well until later that night when Lexi realized that her best friend's packrat disappears that she was babysitting.
Noah finds a little extra something in his lunch box when he returns home for the night after being trapped in the elevator for an hour and thirty-five minutes. He was a bit disappointed when the elevator began to work.
Somehow Noah found a way back to Lexi and to return her packrat before her friend returned from vacation.

Maybe For You Nicole McLaughlin

Book 3 of Wiskey and Wedding Series

Even though this is book three of the series, it didn't really feel like it. To be honest, I didn't realize that it was part of a series until I went to the author's website.
To say that Alexis Parker had a bad year is an understatement--she lost her fiance to a helicopter accident just months before their wedding. Both her and her fiance are in the military. Alex in the Army and Nate is--was in the Air Force. The plan was to have a short leave where the two could get married in Alex's hometown before spending a year long joint deployment in Italy.

Instead, Alex is heading to Italy alone. The only saving grace is Italy does have any memories of Nate. She went to visit all of the places they planned to go. Any time she was emotional, she messaged Jake, her brother's business partner and company playboy. The entire year Alex was in Italy, she was messaging Jake through Facebook Messenger. They didn't go more than three day without communicating to each other. Jake was Alex's rock--her sounding board. But now her deployment is over, she's coming home. For how long? Who knows? Ok, she does but no one else does. She has already interviewed and accepted a position in the CIA in Arlington Virginia. Halfway across the country from her brother who has raised her since her mother and father died.
Jake is picking Alex up from the airport. He has never been so nervous in his life. He keeps rubbing his hands across his jeans. Most of their conversations have been superficial on his end but he listens to Alex's feelings and emotions. He knows that she still loves her dead fiance. But that doesn't stop him from dreaming about her. Wondering what she's doing. Now, she's in the same town. It's awkward. Jake wants more from Alex. He wants what his best friends have--a stable relationship. Ha! That's funny from the resident playboy. The next promotional tour for their whiskey label is about to begin. Jake is grateful. He needs to get away. Jake feels underappreciated and sometimes stupid. All he does is marketing and social media while Dean runs distribution and TJ does the finances. Alex suggests that she tags along with Jake. She wants to travel more and get out of Dean's house more. Dean being in the happy-couple all over the house with his fiancee.
The more time Jake spends with Alex, the more he's falling for her. He doesn't turn Alex down when she asks for a fling during the tour. But Jake gets more than he bargained for. Alex is almost scared away from a revelation. How can Alex have a relationship with Jake when she still loves Nate. Will Nate's ghost ever leave her alone?

Hollywood Heir by Ruth Cardello

Hollywood Heir

Westerly Billionaire, Book 4

I do wish that I had read the first three novels in the series especially since moments were mentioned that previously happened in other novels. I was a bit lost on what happened to Rachelle. I wish that the author would have stated at the beginning of this novel --and advisement of reading the previous novels. Even though I had moments of confusion, I loved the characters.
Sage Revere is a bit of an oddball--she's a plant psychologist. She has a Master's degree in human interaction with plants. She finds clients who are sad and matches them with the right plants to enrich their lives. Sage finds her clients when they are at a low point in their lives.
Eric Westerly is a Hollywood star and part of the Westerly family dynasty. The Westerly family are America's wealthy royal family with ties to the Vandorra royal family in England. Ericis fresh from rehab and burned out on the Hollywood lifestyle which is one of the many reasons why he moved his homebase to London. One of his escapes is disguising himself as a regular person with a scar--Wayne Easton. Sage entrances him. At first, he just wanted her to scratch an itch, although what he gets instead is much better. Will Sage cure Eric of the saddness she sees in his eyes? Can she forgive his lies? Can Eric accept the changes in his life with or without Sage?

Her estranged father doesn't want anything to do with her especially in his company and now she is working the Seattle Wedding Expo trying to revamp the dying hotels her father just aquired. The only saving grace is her older brother Alex. Alex found her when she was 16. They have been extremely close ever since much to the dismay of their father. Alex is now the CEO of Bishop Enterprises after he ousted their father. Malcolm isn't pleased with either of his children, although he only acknowledges Alex and throws the nepotism in Kim's face at every opportunity. Kim has something to prove--that she is the brillant PR whiz and has earned her position as Vice President that her brother gave her. Her latest project is to rebrand the Grand hotel chains that Malcom bought. But while she's at the wedding expo a few unexpected things occur 1) she is kissed senseless by a gorgeous man trying to escape another woman and 2) she realizes that her no man diet is about to be broken. Kim hasn't thought about men or sex since her ex was caught cheating on her numerous times while on the road. One of the many reasons why she loathes professional athletes especially football players--and the partying lifestyle that goes with it. But she can't forget those deep soul searching eyes and his sexy as hell lumberjack look. His Soaman tats make her melt. Who can blame her for caving not once but twice (grant it those times were months apart but come on...she's only human). Men or man is the last thing she needs since Malcolm is constantly hoovering over her waiting for failure. The one thing that Kim defintely doesn't need is a baby.

This is novel is more erotic than romance, but has a decent storyline.
