delayed postings--sorry :(

I wanted to apologize for not posting in a spell. It has been some crazy days. My three teenage boys have kept me hoppin. Mathew, my senior shows our dogs through 4-H and our local county fair was this past week. So, we spent the entire week at the local fairgrounds with our show dogs. I had anticipated doing a lot of reading during the fair--normally, there's a lot of downtime between shows. But not this year! This year, I barely had the chance to sit in my lawn chair. I'm not going to complain. My son had a decent showing along with the other kids in our 4-H club. I am very proud of all of them for the hard work each kid put into their projects and animals.

That being said, I am going full force with my reading lists. I have been doing a lot of thinking about how I want this blog and what I want to accomplish. I have been receiving a lot of ARCs directly from authors which I am finishing up. I will have those reviews posted soon. It is nice to hear from authors about their novels. But I feel like I should be doing more. But what?
I am trying to make sure that I post here, in Goodreads, and Amazon (when applicable). I also have accounts in Kobo too. I'm not as well versed in the latter.

Book Excerpt for The Break Up by Erin McCarthy

“Christian, you’re a fucking idiot,” I murmured to myself as I sat in my car behind a classic stone
church. I had graduated from being attracted to trouble to picking it up in a church parking lot. Then
she came flying out of the back door of the church, her skirt bundled up in her arms, exposing her legs
from the knees down, a veil flowing behind her. She ran in heels like the devil himself was after her,
and hell, maybe he was. I had been shocked that she had texted me, and even more shocked still to
find myself offering to pick her up. But Bella had gotten under my skin. Maybe it was seeing her
holding my son so sweetly. Maybe it was her humble admission that she wasn’t good in bed. Or more
likely it was the fact that she had come to my mom’s still planning to marry an extreme douchebag
and had now seen the goddamn light. I didn’t want her to change her mind and lock herself into a life
with such a miserable guy.
Am I known for being Mr. Monogamous? No. But I wouldn’t put it off on my girlfriend if I
cheated. It would be my fault and I would take responsibility, not make excuses. And hell, I never
cheated on a woman I was involved with, because I was never involved. I just helped women cheat.
Yep. Fucking saint sitting at church, that was me. I started to get out to open the door for her but
she called out, winded and hysterical, “Get in and drive!” She yanked open the passenger door,
tossed a bag over the seat to the back, and scrambled to get inside.
I slid back behind the wheel and glanced around to see if anyone was coming out after her.
“You in?” There hadn’t been a door slam. She was grappling to get it closed, but finally I heard
the click. Her head turned toward me. “Okay, I’m good.”
I hit the locks just in case the door wasn’t completely closed. I would fucking flip out if she spilled
onto the road in a wedding dress. “Where are we going?” I asked her.
“Anywhere.” She pushed the veil back off her face with trembling fingers. “Somewhere where no
one can see me or find me.”
“I know a place.” We had a piece of property that had belonged to my mother’s father that had been
used back in the day for fishing and hunting. There was a dilapidated shack on it and an old
railroad caboose my grandfather had thought was cool.
I was driving but I couldn’t stop myself from looking at Bella. She was engulfed in all the trappings
of a bride. There was white fabric everywhere, and her hair was curled in long waves. She had on
extra makeup and thick, dark eyelashes, and her cleavage was popping. “You look beautiful,” I said,
even though it was probably the last thing she wanted to hear. But she did.
She was stunning. Breathtaking. Mouthwatering. Even her anxious breathing just set her cleavage
heaving, turning me on. I wanted to yank that bodice down and suck her nipples. Lift her skirt and
dive on under there with fingers, mouth, my hard cock. I wanted to yank that tiara veil thing off her
head and bury my hands in her hair, tugging her head backward, forcing her to look at me.
I also wanted to hold her naked in my arms and reassure her that she was enough. Sexy. Satisfying.
Maybe I was actually going to have a chance to do all of that.

Flip the Beat by Roxanne D. Howard

A fast paced erotica romance with a slight fairy tale ending. I think the novel was a little too fast with the storyline and the characters. Molly hires a life coach--Jean-Luc but we only hear about him/from him four times and he really doesn't add too much or contribute to the changes that Molly wants to make except help Molly buy a new wardrobe and a make-over. He does fulfill a fairy godmother type of role but his character needs more depth. There are many inferences to fairy tales throughout the novella. There are more sex scenes than plot line scenes. The ending doesn't seem fitting to Evan's character.
Molly is on the verge of finishing graduate school and will be leaving for Paris soon for an internship. Six months ago, she cashed in her v-card to her hot rocker neighbor two floors down, Evan Castle. Molly couldn't handle the numerous groupies constantly following Evan. It made her insecure. That is why she broke up with Evan shortly after they started.

Evan has always been intrigued by his quiet neighbor, Molly even more so when she gifted him with her virginity. He is constantly going to her apartment to borrow food as an excuse to see her. He can't get rid of the groupies but he hasn't been with anyone since Molly. She is all he ever thinks about.

How can they be together when she is leaving in two months for Paris? Why can't she stay away from the struggling rocker when her dream man is within her reach?

I Will Always Find You (Jefe Cartel Book 1) by Willow Sanders

I loved this novel so much that I bought the next book in the series Found. The first few chapters...I wasn't sure if I would even like this book let alone love it. It does have a bit of a slow start. A few things could be slightly more condensed but I understand why Sanders included the build up of so many of the character even a few that could have been omitted such as Janet and Peter. I was constantly trying to fit the puzzle together between Ben and Camille since the chapters would switch between their point of view which was incredibly beneficial once their arcs crossed over. Ok...now for the overview of the novel and the characters which I completely love even if the novel does end on a cliffhanger. If you are one of those people who despise cliffhangers either buy Found  or skip this book. Although, I recommend buying Found, both novels are well worth the money.

Camille works in the communications division of the Kansas City Chiefs football team. She works long hours especially during the football season, but Camille or Cammie is a bit of a loner. She was raised to not depend on other or to make new friends. She was taught those things because her mother was always moving them around the country. Cammie never thought much about any of these traits until after two very different attacks against her. The first was when her apartment was robbed and two months later, when she was attacked and nearly kidnapped. This is how she met the local Kansas City Police officer Peter Parker who she nicknamed Spiderman and her home health nurse Janet. The attack left Cammie with numerous health issues since she was hit at the back of her brain stem.

Agent Benjamin Vaughn has been chasing down the Jefe Cartel for the last six years of his career in the DEA. He has already taken down the Mercado cartel a direct competitor for Jefe. Vaughn has already lost his best friend to the cartel--he won't lose anything else. After he tracks down and puts Jefe behind bars--he's done. A nice quiet ranch in the middle of nowhere in Wyoming. Ben didn't expect to be sent to Kansas City. Why in the world would the Jefe cartel be there? It is land locked most cartels are along large port cities. He goes where the leads and the DEA sends him. He is working with the KCPD, CIA, FBI, and Homeland to capture Jefe. Vaughn is missing a piece to the puzzle. Why does his beautiful neighbor fall into the pattern of criminal activity within the Jefe organization. What does Jefe want from Cammie? More importantly, why can't Ben stay away from her?

Cover Reveal!!! Love Sincerely Yours Sara Ney & Meghan Quinn

Release Date: October 9

Blurb:

Dear Mister...**strike out** no, too formal.
Hey there sweet cheeks *strike out* no, too forward.

To whom it may concern,
Full disclosure; before we move forward with this email, I would like it to be known that I have consumed an adequate amount of alcoholic beverages to
intoxicate myself tonight. Three margaritas, two shots, and one beer—because it was free.

I think it’s important to be open and honest with your co-workers, don’t you?
So here I am, being honest. Drunk but honest. Or just drunk with lust? You decide.
I like you so much it’s clouding my judgment and making me do things I never would sober. Like write this

letter.

I have a hopeless, foolish, schoolgirl crush on you when you are the last person on earth I should be falling for.
Did you know people around the office call you a sadist? An egomaniac. An insensitive, arrogant prick. Your
bark is worse then your bite, and you don’t scare me. The fact is, I’d love that bite of yours to nip at my bare
skin while we’re both wearing nothing but sheets.
For once I want you to look at me as more than one of your employees.
And as long as we're being honest, that navy blue suit you wear? With the crisp white shirt? It really makes
me want to loosen your tie and show you who’s boss.
Love,
Sincerely,
Yours.

She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!
